Melissa Champlion has over
35 years of music, performance, and recording experience
ranging from piano, clarinet, flute, voice and choir
ensembles. Melissa is a Christian recording artist as
well as a song writer and a worship leader/psalmist.
Melissa has performed in a vast array of venues and will
bring you a wealth of experience into your lessons.

Melissa has been a homeschool mom since 1999 and she
knows how music education is vital to children. Giving
a child music lessons is a great way to introduce them
to a variety of musical styles, instruments, and basic
math concepts.
Melissa teaches the fundamentals of music theory,
sight reading, ear training, and chording.
Her main goal is to find the gift that God has given
each one of her students, develop it, and teach them
to use it for His Glory.
There will be opportunities for performances and professional
recordings in our state of the art digital recording
studio.
Melissa will teach private lessons, group
lessons, as well as families together! Lord willing,
there will be a homeschool choir in the future.

Clarinet Instruction
For over 20 years, Melissa has played the clarinet.
Melissa enjoys finding ways to make clarinet playing
easier for her students. She works with a vast
repertoire of music, and plays through lessons
and duets with students. Most people learn more
easily be playing with more experienced players,
and this is an important part of learning.

Melissa incorporates music fundamentals such
as sight reading, scales and techniques
into all of her teaching.

Piano Instruction
Melissa has been playing the piano for over 35
years. This is her primary instrument by which
she writes all of her music. Melissa has been teaching
piano for over 15 years teaching her students a
vast array of styles from site reading to chording.
Piano lessons build :
Confidence -
A child with self-confidence has a better grip
on handling life's many curve balls. Playing an
instrument instills confidence and helps a child
to overcome shyness.
Coordination -
piano lessons and music study help students develop
manual dexterity. The child who takes piano lessons
often does better in sports because of good eye-hand-ear
coordination developed.
Creativity -
Music helps a child explore his or her imagination
and encourages creative thinking. Soon, that child
learns to improvise at many things in life.
Discipline -
Through regular practice and playing, students
graduate to a higher level of self-discipline.
Satisfaction -
The knowledge that something has been accomplished,
even as small as a musical exercise, teaches satisfaction
in a job "well done".

Voice Instruction
Melissa has been singing before she
could talk. However, her musical skill in this
area did not develop until the age of 16. Melissa follows
basic principles, but the focus of her coaching
is directed towards developing the gift that God
has given you to use it for His glory.
Melissa as directed duets, trios,
ensembles all the way up to 40 voice choirs.
